i was watching National Geographic Channel's megastructures the other day.
And the featured Dubai's Most talked about landmark. THE WORLD!
its amazing how they even come up with this idea!

it was officially completed early this year.
on 10th January 2008.
The world is located 4km offshore from dubai & 25km from the centre of Dubai City.
The amount of materials needed fot the world?
326 Million Cubic Metre of sand dredged from the sea to bulit the Islands
&
32 Million Tons of rock to construct the breakwater.
The size of the islands ranges from 150,000 square feet to 450,000 square feet.
Prices of islands on The World range between $10 million to $45 million approximately
The only mean of transport between the islands are by Air or Sea.
